As the Regional Core Center for Region V-West of the National Hemophilia Program, the Hemophilia Foundation plans and organizes biannual Regional Meetings that provide the opportunity for consumers with bleeding disorders and their care providers to come together to learn, share ideas, develop strategies and to link resources. The Hemophilia Foundation is nationally recognized for its excellence in planning and providing regional training opportunities that allow individuals with bleeding disorders the opportunity to voice their needs and affect their care. The Foundation communicates information that will affect the bleeding disorder community to families, Board members, staff, treatment centers, and the general community. Hemophilia Foundation staff provide school and employment advocacy to ensure that school and work environments understand and support the needs of an individual with a bleeding disorder. GLHF staff provides presentations and training programs to community groups to increase the awareness of the impact and prevalence of bleeding disorders with a goal of broadening community awareness and support for the mission of the Foundation.
