unbiased approach to information dissemination GLHF ensures that patients and their
families can make educated, well-informed decisions regarding all aspects of their lives.
The Foundation has dedicated expert staff available
to answer questions and discuss concerns.
To keep the bleeding disorders community current, the following monthly and quarterly
newsletters are published:
»Headline News is a quarterly newsletter that the Foundation has published for over 23 years. It
is directed at the general bleeding disorders community as well as the donors and friends
of the Foundation. Recently there has been an increased focus on patient education
and advocacy.
»In Addition, the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation maintains a
library of
educational pamphlets, booklets, brochures and videos on various topics relevant to
bleeding disorders and their complications.
All of these materials are
available to the bleeding disorders community as well as the general public.

Educational
Programs
» The Family Retreat - ACCESS is
a program designed for families affected by a bleeding disorder. The program provides
educational and supportive sessions designed to empower parents and their children. This
is a cant-miss opportunity to connect with other families and get expert advice from
professionals in the field and those that have "been there". The Great Lakes
Hemophilia Foundation offers this program to all Wisconsin patients and families at little
to no cost.
"I always leave the retreat with a wonderful sense of togetherness
with the other families-
I realize that we arent the only ones and this gives me strength to go on."
--Mother of a Young Son with Hemophilia
