Public Awareness:  Increase and broaden community recognition and support of the Foundation and its mission.

Outreach:  Promote the early identification of individuals with bleeding disorders.

Access:  Ensure that a continuum of needed care and services is available and obtainable to individuals with bleeding disorders.

Consumer Development:  Ensure that individuals with bleeding disorders have the knowledge and skills to grow and develop to optimum levels.

Health Promotion:  Promote a state of optimal physical, mental, and social well being for individuals with bleeding disorders.

Consumer Welfare:  Ensure the rights and interests of individuals with bleeding disorders.

Research:  Support research to improve care and to find a cure.

Advocacy:  How the Great Lakes Hemophilia Foundation helps promote beneficial programs for individuals with bleeding disorders and their families:

  • Monitors the Wisconsin Hemophilia Home Care Program
  • Actively participates on national and state boards, councils, committees, and task forces on topics relevant to hemophilia,
    von Willebrand disease, other bleeding disorders, HIV, and children with special health care needs
  • Provides school and employment advocacy
  • Promotes access to appropriate, high quality healthcare services for individuals with bleeding disorders
