World Hemophilia Day
(WHD), a global event in honor of the birthday of the World
Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) founder Frank Schnabel, is
Saturday, April 17, 2010. This special day is used to increase
public awareness, educate patients, attract volunteers, raise
funds, and advocate for improved treatment and care. Hemophilia
and lesser known bleeding disorders impact hundreds of thousands
of people of all ethnicities, education levels and incomes,
their families, and their communities.
Hemophilia and lesser known inherited bleeding disorders impact
hundreds of thousands of people of all ethnicities, education
levels, and incomes, their families, and their communities. With
proper care and treatment, people with these disorders can lead
longer, healthier lives. But unfortunately, many people with
bleeding disorders do not have access to appropriate care.
Reflecting on the World Federation of Hemophilia’s expansion of
its mission to embrace all bleeding disorders, this year’s
theme, “The Many Faces of Bleeding Disorders,” focuses on the
different types of bleeding disorders.
Here are 3 simple ways that YOU can celebrate World
Hemophilia Day!
1) In honor of WHD on April 17th, wear red all day on Friday,
April 16th to work or school to show your support to all of your
friends, family, and co-workers!
2) Check out the World Federation of Hemophilia's video podcast:

3) Post this as your Facebook status on April 17th: Today is

Facebook friends learn more about bleeding disorders by posting
